Petition Against C-11

Bill C-11, the Digital Charter Implementation Act, would give the federal government the power to determine what Canadians can and cannot watch online, regulate user-generated content, and remove content it disagrees with.

Free speech is a critical pillar of a vibrant and thriving democracy.

If passed, Bill C-11 would give the federal government the power to silence voices they don't agree with.

No other democratic nation regulates user-generated content on the internet.

Canadians expect their government to ensure freedom of expression across society. As Minister of Advanced Education, I required all publicly funded universities and colleges to adopt free speech policies and I will always fight to defend free speech in Alberta and across Canada.

We the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada, House of Commons and Senate to reject Bill C-11 and prevent its passage in Parliament.
